Chris has twenty-five years of building experience. He started on the building supply side shortly after he and his wife, Kristi, got married. After working in the Kentucky/Tennessee region for ten years building homes and selling building supplies, he felt a tug to come home to New Orleans. More importantly, Chris’ goal was to build custom homes in the New Orleans area. Chris began Shuler Construction in 2009 and has built an impressive portfolio of residential new construction and renovation projects. In his spare time, Chris loves fishing, spending time outdoors, and will find any excuse to drive his Bobcat.

Jonathan was born and raised in Slidell, Louisiana. He brings more than ten years of construction management experience to Shuler Construction. As Lead Project Manager, Jonathan oversees multiple projects while also handling estimating and field supervision. Before joining our team in 2022, he spent seven years in the oil and gas industry, working alongside Exxon in the storage tank department at the Beaumont and Baytown facilities. Jonathan holds a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management with a minor in Business from Louisiana State University. He lives in Abita Springs with his wife, Bre, and their two sons, Crue and JP.

Jeremy was born and raised in Picayune, Mississippi, and continues to live there with his wife and two children. When Jeremy was thirteen, he started to learn the trades of framing and drywalling. Jeremy and Chris met when Shuler Construction was in its very early stages. Jeremy offered to help Chris with framing and drywall, and since then, has become an integral part of the team. Jeremy brings twenty-nine years of construction knowledge to Shuler Construction and is currently one of our lead Job Superintendents. When Jeremy is not overseeing projects, you can find him fishing, camping, and spending time with his family in Mississippi.

Will began his construction career in roadway development throughout the Greater New Orleans area. He brings his experience to Shuler Construction, working on both residential and commercial project. Will joined our team in August of 2023 and has previously worked on several residential remodeling projects. He’s grateful to be doing what he loves every day. Will holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology with a concentration in Construction, from Southeastern Louisiana University. He calls Covington home and is passionate about anything outdoors

Susan joined Shuler Construction at its inception when Chris, her brother, moved home to New Orleans to start his business.  Her intent was to help Chris set up his office, but shortly after, Susan and her husband, Stephen, asked Chris to build a new home for them.  It was then that Susan discovered her passion for building.  Prior to joining Shuler Construction, she served as an account executive, production manager and a member of the creative team at a local advertising agency.  In her free time, Susan enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and gardening.

Taylor joined the Shuler team in 2021 after a ten-year career in education. Taylor attended Louisiana State University where she obtained her B.S. and a Master’s degree in elementary education. Even while she was teaching full time, Taylor assisted Shuler Construction with design projects, primarily working with her mom, Susan. Taylor is passionate about interior design and decor, so joining Shuler full-time as a member of the Design Team was a perfect fit. On the weekends you will find Taylor spending time with her husband and two young children, rearranging and redecorating her house (again…), cooking, and dreaming of summer getaways to Montana.

John was born and raised in Memphis, TN and represents the third generation of his family entering the construction industry. After high school, John moved south to attend LSU, returning home in 2018 to manage a commercial and retail plant nursery. After a few years, he re-enrolled in school to pursue a career in accounting.  John moved to New Orleans in 2022 and loves the New Orleans area, trying new restaurants, and walking the Fontainebleau neighborhood with his dogs, Scooter and Archie.

Jon was born in Metairie, LA and currently resides in River Ridge with his wife and two sons. Jon learned home construction remodeling when he was seven and working alongside his dad. Prior to joining Shuler Construction in 2017, Jon worked as a foreman for a construction company doing remodels on both commercial and residential properties. In his spare time, Jon does remodels on his own home, plays darts, and enjoys spending quality time with his family and close friends.

Herman was born and raised in Gary, Indiana. As a teenager, his family relocated to Florida, where he later attended The University of West Florida and earned a degree in Construction Engineering Technology. Throughout his construction career, Herman has worked in nearly every aspect of the industry–from framing and trim carpentry in the field to leadership and administration, helping guide the third largest privately run residential builder in the United States. He also owned and operated a renovation company in northwest Florida for several years before he and his family moved to Louisiana in 2022. Herman has two daughters, a stepdaughter and a five-year-old son.  He enjoys spending time with his children and fiancée, watching Notre Dame football, and taking on projects around the house.
